Henri Texier's path counts among the most symbolic and the richest of the european Jazz musicians . Symbol of a generation who has done wonders for the self-confidence and eager for experiment, the double bassist was the inexhaustible catalyst of musical adventures, occupying a determining role  - by his capacity to federate the creative energies .

Henri Texier, born in January 27th, 1945, discovers jazz while he is a young teenager and very fast gives up  piano for double bass.

Fascinated, he will be introduced into the parisian clubs by Daniel Humair and he will play with great masters such as Bud POWELL, Kenny CLARKE, Lee KONITZ, Dexter GORDON, Art TAYLOR, Don CHERRY, Art FARMER, Johnny GRIFFIN...

And since then with :  Hampton HAWES, Jean-Luc PONTY, Daniel HUMAIR, Michel PORTAL, Albert MANGELSDORFF, Peter BROTZMANN, Enrico RAVA, Charlie HADEN

He toured through Europe and played at Newport Jazz Festival (U.S.A). With Phil Woods and His European Rythm Machine (Georges GRUNTZ then Gordon BECK and D. HUMAIR) he created, with Aldo Romano a group of " progressive - rock ": TOTAL ISSUE .

Recognizable soloist and composer, Henri Texier gathered around him hundreds of groups and prestigious creators…

Manu Katche_ Drum

Both as a live and studio musician Manu Katche is one of the greatest drummers of our time. Possessed of a unique playing style, it’s because of his distinct mixture of elegance and power that, time and again, musicians and producers have sought his services. As Peter Gabriel’s drummer of choice Katche was hugely influential on his biggest hit “Sledgehammer” and, more recently, as the focal point of Gabriel's live band on his “Back to front” world tour. Katche’s long-running collaboration with Sting is also a key aspect of his career, again his distinctive style lending itself to Sting’s biggest hit “Englishman in New York”. A coincidence? Certainly not!

It would take a long time to recount the list of pop greats whom Manu Katche has worked with, however his works in jazz are of equal importance, the most well known of these was as a long time member of the Jan Garbarek Group. Katche also hosted the television music show “One Shot Not” on Arte TV channel, and it was here he met and played with countless musicians from across the musical spectrum.

Katche’s work as a composer and bandleader is an integral part of his career. He has released six internationally acclaimed albums under his own name, his music distinguished by his sense for precise, melodic, catchy themes, it’s unique flow and deep sense of atmosphere. It is testament to Manu Katche’s genius that both these sides of his musical personality ? the outstanding drummer and sound-magician, and the composer and bandleader - complement each other so perfectly.

The sixth album is called ≪ Unstatic ≫ and the new thing on this new record is the fact that after two albums without bassist, he adds a bassist (Ellen Andrea Wang) to his band (Tore Brunborg on sax, Jim Watson on piano and hammond, Luca Aquino on trumpet).

Airelle Besson_ Trumpet

2016 follows on as a natural continuation of 2015 which was an exceptional year for Airelle Besson : awarded twice, as Best French Musician of the Year by the French Django Reinhardt Jazz Award Academy & as Jazz Revelation of the Year at the French Jazz award ceremony ≪ Les Victoires du Jazz ≫. At the 2015 festival ‘Jazz sous les Pommiers’ in Coutances, where she is artist in residence for 3 years, Airelle caught the public’s attention with her brand new project ; a quartet with Isabel Sorling on vocals, Benjamin Moussay on piano, fender Rhodes & bass synth and Fabrice Moreau on drums. Their new album ≪ Radio One ≫ will be released in May on the French label Naive. Concerts in France and worldwide will follow the release.

Airelle has an impressive track-record. She trained with Wynton Marsalis, Pierre Gillet and Kato Havas (Yehudi Menuhin‘s disciple) in Oxford, graduated from the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris and was winner of the international  jazz competition  ≫ Paris La Defense ≫ in 2008.

This multi-talented trumpet player shines on the European scene with her projects, (the Airelle Besson Quartet and duo with Nelson Veras),  as a much sought after sidewoman ( with Francois Jeanneau, Riccardo Del Fra, Didier Levallet, Laurent Cugny,…) and as a composer/arranger (Metronomy, Orchestre National de Lyon). She has performed with Charlie Haden and Carla Bley, Michel Portal, Youn Sun Nah, Philip Catherine, Billy Hart, Rhoda Scott, Daniel Humair, Magic Malik, Baptiste Trotignon, Henry Texier, Tom Harrell, Avishai Cohen, Greg Hutchinson…
